Blinman Underground Mine Experience
A unique dramatic journey into the heart of an historic copper mine

Mine Tours-Home Blinman Mine History The construction team Geology of the Mine

Copper was discovered by shepherd Robert Blinman in 1859 in the location of the town named after him. Mining began there in 1862 by the Yudnamutana Mining Company and it subsequently became the longest operating mine in the Flinders Ranges.

Now after recent extensive excavations, it is possible to take a tour through the tunnels that were once worked by the Cornish miners and share some of their experiences through an intimate theatrical presentation using art, sound scape and state of the art special effects.

A variety of tour experiences are available averaging about one and a half hours.

For further details and costs, please call and speak our tour manager at the tour office
